GRAND CHUTE (WLUK) — A new training center broke ground at Fox Valley Technical College Friday. It’s where students will go for airport rescue firefighting (ARFF) training. The facility will be built near FVTC’s Public Safety Training Center and Appleton International Airport.
Earlier this year, the school received a $10.4 million federal grant to build the new center.
The state-of-the-art building will help firefighting students complete their FAA-required training. It will also help bridge the gap in the Midwest with recent ARFF facility closures in Minnesota and Michigan.
